Author page / Rich snippets

Hello,

I have some beginner questions regarding the author page and the snippets for google. I red quite a lot of tutorials but I am still a bit lost and I want to be sure not to make big mistakes.

Regarding the author page, is it ok if I just add a new page that I call “Author” through the wordpress.org panel or do I need to create a full code and a author.php document ? I red that somewhere but I feel completly unable to do such codifications.

After creating my author page, I also would like to get my rich snippets on Google. For that I understood I have to link both my blog and my Google+ account. I did add my website link on my google+ account and then I just need to add the code

but where exactly do I put it ? In every single page of my blog ?

Last question, on the blog, when I click on my name on the top/bottom of an article as the author area “By XXXX, date YY/YY/YY” I would like the link to be redirected to my google+ account but so far it brings me back on the main page of my blog. I don’t know what I am doing wrong regarding this part.
