Author Field error on Structured Data output

The Author Field, on the Structured data output for all my webpages, is coming up with an error “A value for the author field is required”, although I have filled out all the necessary fields.

I have looked at some of the relevant comments made in this forum but nothing has helped. Has anyone found a solution yet?

To resolve this issue please setup author using modify schema option from schema type list. And Then let us know.

Hi there,

I have tried updating the Modify Schema option from Schema settings in the past: https://prnt.sc/wg8gg5

But it has not worked so far. Any suggestions?

No mate…I have noticed a few more people also had this issue. But I have not found any solutions yet 🙁

droyed: Can you please share few more screenshots of the configuration you have setup? We tried to re-create the issue at our end but we were unable to re-create it.

To resolve this issue select “Restore to auto fetch” for the post/page you are getting issue on and check it once whether issue is persistent. And Then let us know back.

Hi @magazine3

Thank you for your message. I tried restoring auto-fetch on one of the pages and it seems to have fixed the ‘Author name’ error.

But now it displays ‘Organization name’ and ‘Publisher’ as the Author name on that page and not the Organization name.

We have resolved this issue and pushed it in recent plugin update version 1.9.61. Please update the plugin and check it once. Then let us know back.

Hey @magazine3

Thank you. I updated the plugin and have no errors on the Structured Data testing tool output. So thank you for that.

However, I have realised that some of the articles/pages have the Publisher as the Organisation name while others have it as the Author name.

Is there a way I can fix Publisher as the Company/Organisation name and Author of articles as the corresponding Author name, for the entire site?
