The “Authenrication required” issue is in the FAQ. You have a page name conflict.
The question about no live tracking I don’t understand, I need more information.

I have the same issue despite I changed the /mapmytracks url to /mapmytracks111 or other attempts.
I have create a new user with the role editor, and deactivate/activate the plugin again but nothing changed.
In which way can I solve the issue? Just to have all info, I have installed WP from scratch and I have installed just this wonderful plugin.

What is the URL of the page you are trying to use [tsmap] shortcode on?
What does Trackserver tell you is the ‘Full custom URL’ for MapMyTracks on the options page?
Full URLs please, so I can have a look.

I’m trying to connect via browser at the url http://www.baichers.it/mapmytracks but the browser always asks me the basic auth, even if I use a WP editor.
Moreover I try to upload a track via latest OruxMaps version on Android device, but without success

However I do suspect that Trackserver is listening for location updates on http://www.baichers.it/mapmytracks (which is the default setting) so trying to view a WordPress page on that URL does not work. That is the naming conflict I was talking about earlier in this topic, as well as in the FAQ.

sorry Martijn if I’m not clear but I’m a newbie on WP. What I’m trying to do is to load my tracks recorded with the mobile device using OruxMaps in the “Manage tracks” page of your plugin. All the URLs have the default values, I have just installed WP and your plugin. Then I configure the OruxMaps on my phone as you explains in the screenshots. Then I try to load the track as “MapMyTracks” in the OruxMaps but I receive a connection error after trying to connect to MapMyTracks.com (why??)
Where am I wrong?

Ok, first you need to know the difference between the URL that you use for location tracking (that you configure in OruxMaps) and the pages that display your maps.
See https://nl.wordpress.org/plugins/trackserver/faq/ “What is this ‘slug’ you are talking about?”. Everything is explained there. Do not try to create a page at ‘http://…./mapmytracks/’ because it will not work due to the naming conflict. You will see ‘Authentication Required’.
But you still haven’t answered my question about what Trackserver says is the full custom URL for OruxMaps.
I have no idea why you would get a connection error in OruxMaps, if the URL you configured for MapMyTracks is EXACTLY what it says in Trackserver’s options page, under ‘OruxMaps MapMyTracks settings’, after ‘Full custom URL:’.
Recent versions of OruxMaps have complete support for custom MapMyTracks URL, so live tracking as well as track upload should work.

I have the same problem of Marco:
– I installed wordpress vers. 4.6.1
– I installed: GPS Track Server for TrackMe, OruxMaps and others ver. 2.2
– PHP version: 5.3.29
– I configured MapMyTracks URL slug with: cicciopizza
– Full custom URL: http://www.mtbvolturno.it/wp/cicciopizza
– I have a user on wordpress:
user:cicciopizza
password: cicciopizza
role: author
when I put the url: http://www.mtbvolturno.it/wp/cicciopizza in the browser, I prompted me: user/password.
I tried to use cicciopizza/cicciopizza but the authentication fails.
I tried to configure oruxmap as shown here:

but when I try to load a track from oruxmap I get a connection error.
Could you help me.

Cicciopizza,
You have misunderstood how Trackserver works. Please read the FAQ about URL slugs and pay special attention to the WARNING section.
Also, I don’t know what “a connection error” is.

hello, I am having difficulties getting to my /wp-admin page its always coming up with a little box that says authentication required. any suggestions you might have for me would be honored.
