 * Hello,
 * We have recently updated WordPress to the latest version i.e. 5.2.4 and the WP
   Google Map plugin to the latest version. The map seems to work fine for our logged
   in users but not for the ones who are not logged in. It gives an authentication
   error as :
 * **Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 401 (Unauthorized)
   for /wp-json/wpgmza/v1/marker-listing/**
 * Can you please help us with that?
 * The page I need help with: _[[log in](https://login.wordpress.org/?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwordpress.org%2Fsupport%2Ftopic%2Fauthentication-error-13%2F%3Foutput_format%3Dmd&locale=en_US)
   to see the link]_

 * Hi [@htmlewaycorp](https://wordpress.org/support/users/htmlewaycorp/)
 * Thank you for getting in touch, sorry to hear you are experiencing issues.
 * Your site is set up to block the REST API for unauthenticated users.
 * Please visit /wp-json on your site and you’ll see the message:
 * `Only authenticated users can access the REST API.`
 * This isn’t something that’s changed in the WordPress core, are you perhaps using
   a security plugin? If so can you whitelist our plugins REST routes at `/wp-json/
   wpgmza/v1/`?
 * Kind regards
    – Perry

 * Yes we are using iTheme security pro on our website, although we have disabled
   the option of restricted API access, the issue still exist. Can you please guide
   us on how to whitelist the rest route?

 * Hi [@htmlewaycorp](https://wordpress.org/support/users/htmlewaycorp/)
 * If you’re disabled restricted REST API access already, are you sure this isn’t
   a cached response?
 * Could you please try clearing any and all caches then checking `/wp-json` on
   the site again?
 * I’m not sure if their plugin supports whitelisting, but you can find instructions
   on tweaking access settings [here](https://ithemes.com/security/wordpress-rest-api-restrict-access/).
 * Does that help?
 * Kind regards
    – Perry
