Support » Plugin: iThemes Security (formerly Better WP Security) » Authentication Code feature doesn’t work

  • This feature will cause you to get locked out of your site. It will send you a few emails for your “authentication codes” and then it will stop completely. Next you’ll be in your database deactivating the plugin. Wouldn’t recommend.

It does work. The only common error thing is you’re copy pasting the code that it tends to include a space at the beginning and you’ll barely notice it as the code looks correct but the space will lead to wrong code error then it will send you another new code again and you’ll do it again and again until you get blocked. Culprit, failure to noticed a space unless you manually enter it.

Yep, that bug has always been there.
As a user of the Pro version, I’ve also reported it but support doesn’t care.

It’s 30 seconds of work from them to prevent non-numeric numbers in that input box, but it seems it’s too much effort for them.
I can only assume the developers don’t actually use their own product as much as we do!
