Authentication 403 Error after website restore from backup

Yesterday, I had to restore my website from a backup due to an issue with another plugin. However, following successful restore, I found that MonsterInsights (v7.4.2) was no longer working, and issued the message below when attempting to view the reports …
“403 Error – The key or token used is invalid. Please authenticate/re-authenticate with MonsterInsights on the MonsterInsights settings panel.”
The Google Analytics UA- code has not changed.
I tried several attempts to re-authenticate, and also disconnect, authenicate, but always the same error was issued. Also tried Deactivating and reinstalling the plugin, but always the same error message.
