[resolved] [audio] shortcode with customizations not working (7 posts)

I am using latest Jetpack (2.5) and WordPress (3.6.1)

The audio tag works only if it does not has any customized parameters
    e.g. This works:

    [audio http://wpcom.files.wordpress.com/2007/01/mattmullenweg-interview.mp3]

    This does not:

    [audio http://wpcom.files.wordpress.com/2007/01/mattmullenweg-interview.mp3|titles=Matt Mullenweg Interview|loop=yes|animation=no]

For the 2nd case I get the following output:

    <a href="http://wpcom.files.wordpress.com/2007/01/mattmullenweg-interview.mp3|titles=Matt">http://wpcom.files.wordpress.com/2007/01/mattmullenweg-interview.mp3|titles=Matt</a>

I have tried checking this with different themes, all plugins disabled and I still see the issue.

The [audio] shortcode now uses the core Audio feature introduced in WordPress 3.6, if that is your version of WordPress, and thus uses these parameters:

    source, loop, autoplay and preload

I have fixed our support document to reflect this change.

Note that we have two tickets related to brining back some of the old Jetpack shortcode functionality:

    Thanks Richard for the update.

However, on the WordPress page http://en.support.wordpress.com/audio/ it says that we can use the shortcode as mentioned in my post. However, they are still not working. Is there some issue with them or do we need to change something or are they not supported anymore.

Also, in the reference that you linked http://codex.wordpress.org/Audio_Shortcode there is no mention of the able to use titles, artists etc. So, are they no longer supported?

Hi, that's right, Jetpack's use of the audio shortcode was superceded by the new audio shortcode included in Core. So if you are using WordPress 3.6, you can no longer use the parameters found on on the WordPress.com support page that you linked to.

Thanks for the information. So now we will have to go and manually update each posts. I wish there was a way to fix this, specially if you have 100s of such posts.

Yes Virendra, you'll have to manually edit the posts, sorry for the inconvenience.
