[resolved] Audio plays, no video (3 posts)

Here is the relevant page: http://youthconnectionwilmette.org/2013/01/battle-of-the-bands-rocks-on-february-1st/

In Firefox 18.0.1, the audio plays fine, but there is no video. In Chrome 24.0 nothing loads, I just get a spinner.

(Note that on the page above the video box I have linked to the mp4 file and it plays fine in WMP, but not embedded of course.)

I tried running the file through WinFF to see if that helped. Then I get no audio or video in WP, but the file plays fine in WinFF or WMP.

Here is my shortcode. I have tried it without the preload parameter as well.

    [video mp4="http://youthconnectionwilmette.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/B-of-Bands-Promo-mpeg-4.mp4" preload="auto"]

I changed .htaccess to look like this:

    # BEGIN WordPress
    <IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /
    RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
    RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
    AddType text/xml .xml
    AddType video/mp4 .mp4 .m4v
    AddType video/mpeg .mpeg .mpg
    AddType video/quicktime .mov
    AddType video/ogg .ogv
    AddType video/webm .webm
    AddType audio/mp4 .m4a .m4b .m4r
    AddType audio/mpeg .mp3
    AddType audio/playlist .m3u
    AddType audio/x-scpls .pls
    AddType audio/ogg .ogg
    AddType audio/wav .wav
    # END WordPress

    Do you have any thoughts?

    Many thanks.

Figured it out. I was using WinFF wrong. I needed to select "HTML5" in the "convert to" box and "H264sd" in the "preset" box. I had been using "MPEG4" in the "convert to" box -- which did puzzle me since I had an mp4 to start -- so after a few more tries I have it working in the FF and Chrome versions I listed above and IE9.

    Great plugin. Thanks.
