 * If I understand correctly, you’d like to have an attribute that has one name 
   in the backend, but a different one on the front-end of the site. Is that correct?
 * If so, I’m afraid there isn’t a way to do that out of the box. Custom coding 
   would be needed for that.
 * I’ll leave this thread open for now, in case someone else has any suggestions
   for you.
