Support » Plugins » Attempting To Move The Widget Header To Above Each Widget

  • This is probably an easy question but couldn’t quite find anything like it. I want to move the header that appears inside of the css “block” class outside for every widget (including custom widgets) but I’m not sure how to accomplish this. For example

    <div id="sidebar">

    <h1 style="color:#ffc000; font-size:.9em; font-weight:bold;">Test Category Header: </h1>

    <div class="block">
    Widget content
    </div>
    </div>

    Currently it is like

    <div id="sidebar">
    <div class="block">TITLE</h3>
    </div>

    currently every widget block on the sidebar has the H3 inside the container. I just don’t know where to change this function or intercept this to change it.

    Thanks!

  • Try functions.php?

    Still trying to figure out how to do this.. The design I’m building has the border around the container but for widgets on the side the h1 should be before the block.

    only thing I have seen so far is a function called before_widget. If anyone knows where to point me. I didn’t really see anything in functions.php

    I think i might have found it – you were referring to this:

    if ( function_exists('register_sidebar') ) {
    	register_sidebar(array(
    		'before_widget' => '<li id="%1$s" class="widget %2$s">',
    		'after_widget' => '</li>',
    		'before_title' => '<h2 class="widgettitle">',
    		'after_title' => '</h2>',
    	));
    }

    Yes – that applies the markup around each of your sidebar widgets.

    Thank you, I had to adjust it a bit, but for the most part got it working now on to some harder problems.
