First of all: Congratulations Marcel with this Easiest Gallery. It works fine and I love it for many things: Comments, bread crumbs, ease of set up, good structure of navigation etc. But I have so far 1 problem with it on my site, as well on your demo sites.
I have about 7000 pictures to show of the city where I live. Most visitors will look at them in the attachment page view, with only 1 picture on the screen. The problem is that this picture appears only half in the screen. The rest above the image is mostly blank and the titles. In order to see the picture we have to scroll down the page so that the picture is in the middle of our screen. But when we click in it to see the next picture, this next one appears again down in our screen and only half visible. So now we have to scroll again to see it entirely etc etc. For viewing 2 or 3 pictures, this is a doable. After dozens of pictures this becomes super annoying. What can be done ?

  • I don’t want to use a Lightbox because it uses Java and a lot of visitors will see no LB because they use Firefox that blocks Java or their Java is outdated etc. So I want to make a gallery that looks good on every browser and even without Java! Also I want commenting and that is not compatible with a LB.
I found this solution: In HTML this is called a document fragment.
So could you possibly use in every page an anchor and link to that position on the page. So that we don’t need to scroll to the picture after every click ?

    Did you resolve this?
Yes, this is normal. The main content area with the attachment image is bellow the header area. Modify the template files and if the header height is smaller than you see more from the content area.
