Thank you for the positive feedback on the plugin and for your question. Thank you for taking the time to give me the version numbers for your WPML plugins as well; that is very helpful.

When you say “attach media with ‘Parent info’“, I understand that to mean that you go to the Media/Edit Media screen, scroll down to the “Parent Info” meta box and click “Select” to assign a parent ID (or simply enter the parent ID in the text box). Is that right?

I have just updated my WPML test system to WPML (ver. 3.1.8.4) and WPML Media (ver 2.1.8), the most recent versions. I don’t believe there are any significant differences with the versions you are using with regard to this issue.

On my system, the permalinks are correct; I cannot reproduce the issue you are having on your system. Here is some additional information on what I did that may help resolve your issue. If not, can you post answers to the questions I have asked below so I can configure my system to match yours?

I went to the Settings/Permalinks screen and selected “Post name” in the Common Settings section. I clicked “Save Changes” to update the permalinks structures on the site. What is the Permalinks setting on your site?

I went to the WPML/Languages screen and set my “Language URL format” to “Different languages in directories”. I left the “Use directory for default language” unchecked. Do you have the same settings on your system? If not, what are your settings?

I went to the WPML/Media Translation screen and checked every box except “Set language information for existing media”. Do you have the same settings on your system? If not, what are your settings?

To test the settings I uploaded a new image to the Media Library. WPML created a separate item for each language. I then went to the Media/Edit Media screen for each new item and used the Parent Info “Select” function attach the item to a post in the same language.

When I view the Attachment Page for each item I get the correct permalink. On my system they are:

    http://jholland/a-post/desert-2/
    http://jholland/es/a-post-es/desert-3/

I hope that setting your WPML and Permalinks parameters to the appropriate values will resolve this issue for you. If not, any additional information you can give me will let me be more helpful.

I am leaving this topic unresolved until I hear back from you. Thanks for you interest in the plugin.

Thank you very much David for your answer.

I have your same configuration. I think that the problem is a conflict with theme or other plugin, but I also de-activated all plugin, but nothing.

I’ll try with WPML support to know if is it a problem of their plugin.

Thanks again, and compliment for your best work.
