• Attachment pages often cannot be reached using the link from the Media Library. The symptom is a “too many redirects” message.

This is an issue with letter case, and was discovered in the Media Library, but can be duplicated and tested using the browser’s address bar. In most cases, changing the case of ANY letter in the address bar will fix the problem and the Attachment Page is found using the incorrect (or correct) URL as long as there is an uppercase letter in it.

To complicate matters, it happens on GoDaddy servers, but not on Ubuntu. As best as I can tell, the setups are identical as far as htaccess, and all files and database are uploaded from my local Ubuntu server to GoDaddy.

The media library attachment page line always provides a lowercase URL. I have images with uppercase letters, and trying to access those pages causes a “too many redirects” error message.

I can provide detailed examples and URLs, but don’t want people to do a TMI!
