Have you tried:
– deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
– switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
– resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
And why are you using such an old version of WordPress?

Hi there. I thought you might write that.
I’m new to WP and so how do I do the things you specified above?
Also, the reason I use an older version of WP is I have a link feeding my images into my WP site from another (external) web source. My site’s developer (now not trading due to ill health, and hence me being new to this stuff) warned me that upgrading the WP version will break the link. So I’m stuck until I find another work around.
Thanks in advance.
1. Go to Appearance > Themes and switch to the 2010(?) theme.
2. Go to Plugins a select “Deactivate” for every active plugin.
3. See the page at the link I posted above.
Did your ex-developer also warn you that, by not keeping WordPress up-to-date, your site is at a significant risk of being hacked? See this article.

Hello and thanks for the response and apologies for my slow reply. I shall have a look and give it a go!
And no, the old developer did not warn me about the security issues, but I presumed as much, hence looking to find a way unpick the whole Chebang and find another way to sort the image feed without worries about upgrading the version of WP I’m using.
So, fingers crossed… 🙂
Regards, Doug.
