atom-feed as atom.xml

  • Hello community!
First of all I’d like to thank for this great blogger script. I’m currently preparing wordpress to substitute my blogspot.
I encountered a few problem which I luckily solved by reading the FAQs, however, I’ve still one problem that seems to be really tough.
I’m using an atom-feed with blogspot (http://www.modelsblog.info/atom.xml) and I need an equal atom-feed (on the same URL) for wordpress but can’t figure out how this can be done. I’ve already tried a few plugins but had no luck with them. I know the feed is available under a different address, but I really need it to be displayed as atom.xml.
Do you know how to solve this problem?
I have to mention that my server doesn’t allow mod_rewrite with .htaccess (I had to solve the permalinks-problem by putting the filename in front of the snippet).

    Thanks in advance!

    modelsblog

  • Please take a look at my problem 🙁

    This bit:

I have to mention that my server doesn’t allow mod_rewrite with .htaccess (I had to solve the permalinks-problem by putting the filename in front of the snippet).

puts a nail in the coffin of every solution that I can come up with.

That means there is no way to output an atom.xml with WP? 🙁

No. But it means you may have to modify some “core” files to get it done. Not the end of the world, just something to remember to redo each upgrade.

Having mod_rewrite available would get this done in one or two lines of .htaccess.

Yes I heard about that 🙁 but unfortunately the whole blog stops when I put those in the .htaccess.
I hope someone comes up with a solution for me . I’m ready to open my editor 😉
