• Thanks in advance for any help with this issue!

I use the Astra theme on WordPress.com, with Elementor and Elementor Pro.

Recently, I’ve received a message when trying to use the WP dashboard, “There has been a critical error on this website.”

I can open the WP dashboard in recovery mode, and Elementor Pro is the plugin that seems to be causing the issue. The error appears to be related to the theme, so I wonder if it’s because of an interaction between Astra and Elementor Pro.

I checked the Astra plugin and saw an update was available, so I updated. But the Elementor Pro error remains.

This is the error text on the Elementor Pro plugin:

    Version 3.3.7 | By Elementor.com | Visit plugin site

This plugin failed to load properly and is paused during recovery mode.

  • I’m getting the same issue/error. I’m hosted at WP Engine and they said that the newest version of Elementor is causing issues with other clients also. For now, I’m holding off on the Elementor updates in hopes that they will resolve it.

I just got off with Elementor support. Here is what they had me do.

    Deactivate and Uninstall Elementor Pro
    Update Elementor Core to 3.7.1
Download the newest version of Elementor Pro from my account and install it.

    This worked for me.

Hi guys, sorry for the delay.

Thanks for sharing, @iravick. @easleyguy, have you tried the steps above?

Also, since this is not related to Astra, please mark this topic as Resolved and get in touch with Elementor support if you still have the issue.

Feel free to start a new thread if there is anything else related to Astra we can help you with.

    Kind regards,
    Herman 😊

Thank you @iravick your solution worked for me.

Hi @iravick is “Elementor Core” a plugin’s name? or where can I find it?

    Hi @aprilzhao,

    I believe it’s Elementor free.

    Kind regards,
    Herman 😊
