# associate CPT with default WordPress categories

 * I’m using ‘Geodirectory’, which has a CPT ‘places’. I’m trying to associate ‘
   places’ with the default WordPress categories. However, there is no ‘Connections’
   tab when I’m trying to edit ‘places’, only the tabs: ‘fields’, ‘Autotemplate 
   options’ and ‘REST Api’. What am I doing wrong…?

 * Since the CPT places is managed by the Geodirectory plugin Pods doesn’t allow
   you to change it’s configuration, only adding fields is allowed.
 * However, you can manually override it through PHP: [https://developer.wordpress.org/reference/hooks/register_post_type_args/](https://developer.wordpress.org/reference/hooks/register_post_type_args/)
