I was checked on an assignment that I previously created and noticed something strange-

I want file uploads to be accepted as solutions, so I have checked this box in the assignments section for Namaste! LMS.

The problem is that there is no way to upload a solution. I have double checked this with admin/student users. Any information regarding this will be greatly appreciated.

I’m sorry, this happened to be challenging so we left to implement it later and forgot to remove the checkbox

Ok no problem. I have a work-around that should be fine for a while. I thought it would be easy to create my own file upload, but I understand now the complications with that 🙂

There are mostly security concerns, you have probably figured that out 🙂

    Prasunsen,

Is there any chance that the file submission for assignments will be developed? I understand that for public wordpress sites this could be harmful or unsafe.

However, for users who are using the plugin locally in a safe environment, this concern does not really exist. I am trying to have students/employees fill out pdf docs which they will have to do on a daily basis. I would like them to be able to submit the pdf to simulate a real life application problem.

I understand this may not be a quick request or ideal for public sites. However, perhaps there could be a checkbox in the Namaste settings that could enable assignment file submission, like there is for the deletion of prior watu exam submissions on cleanup.

Thanks again for all your hard work! I am just trying to determine if I can still rely on this attribute.

yes, sorry, just can’t get there yet. But we will do it

Do not know if this will help you, but before using Namaste! LMS I used Contact Form 7 for uploading assignment, and only included the fields for name, email address, lesson number, and a upload box. You might be able to add the shortcode for the contact form into the assignment question WYSIWYG editor.

Excellent idea, thank you for the suggestion!

“Accept file upload as solution” is now implemented in 1.2.7

Are you sure that this is correctly saving pdf file submissions? It is erroring for me.

Sorry, PDF doesn’t work for some reason. Right now I have no time to investigate, please use other file formats. I’ve checked with images, doc, excel, all work except PDF.

ok no problem, I was just making sure it wasn’t a problem I created from editing code here and there.

I will see if I can figure out what is going on in the meantime also.

problem solved, PDFs will work now (you’ll need to upload new, the old ones were not stored properly)

I just started setting up a site; http://www.guidoooms.com/wordpress
and i would my students to be able to upload an image as a solution to an assignments. When i testrun it with my fake student ‘john doe’, John is able to upload an image, but when i try to see it as an admin, it dowloads a file called ‘Photo Database’ which i can’t open and looking at the size I don’t John’s uploaded image is in there…

Is it possible to upload a .jpg file as a solution? Or better, because that part might not be the problem; Can I, as an admin, see the image a student has uploaded as a solution to an assignment?
