• Is there a plug-in that allows bloggers to assign photos to a post without using the toolbar to add the photos to the HTML. Instead maybe a media center for each post that will add the attached photos to a specific area of the post (determined in the template)? I am working on a project where I need to standardize the photo positions and make the photos easy to attach without inserting the photos in the post body.

    Thanks!

  • Using Custom Fields – no need for plugin.

That isn’t a bad idea – so let me know if I am visualizing this correctly. The blogger would upload an image using the standard WP media tools and the in the Custom Fields, for each photo (if there are multiple photos) the blogger would add a key of “photo” and the image’s URL as the value? We could then pull all of the image URLs into the page through the custom fields array.

    Thanks.

You got it. You have a KEY and a VALUE for each custom field. If your set up has three images (image1, image2, image2) to be placed in a specific areas of your post and/or front page. You will need to set up a Key for image1, another key for image2 and another Key for image3. You can call the custom fields from your template in single post and even call one or more of the fields to your front page for say, listing of recent posts or featured posts, etc.
