Assign groups – No Group – not functioning as expected

Not sure if I might be setting something incorrectly, but I have a question — in the Private Group Settings — Assign groups to roles section — Assign group on every visit
Each of the roles where I’ve set a group — works fabulously!
However – I have one role “suspended” – where I’ve tried to set the option to “No Group” . . .
I am expecting – that after the person logs in — there would be no assigned group, but that is not the case. The person is still assigned to the group that they were in – before their role was changed to “suspended”.It may be irrelevant — in that our “suspended” role pretty much locks them out of everything anyway. I guess I’m just wondering if there IS a way to “remove all groups” so that when the suspended user logs in, they will have no groups assigned to them.
Maybe I’m just doing something wrong. ?Please let me know if I’m not explaining things clearly — and thanks, in advance.
