hmm…you’re the first person (out of 30 or so) who have this problem…what is the url of the RSS feed that this is happening with?
I’m using feed to post only..
There’s a couple of feeds that are duplicating on SOME posts, but not all..

I don’t know if this will help, but parts of my site is structured for Google News which means adding numbers to the url.. for example:

so, the feed that is giving you a problem is from google news? The feeds you posted above do not come from google news…what I need are the feeds you are trying to bring in that you indicate are resulting in double posts.
No, the feeds are not from Google News…
My site is structured for inclusion into Google News.. which means my URLs end with 4 digits.
When checking for duplicate posts, if WP RSS Multi Importer looks at the URL before creating the post, in my case – and in the case of anyone that has a website included in Google News, would the additional 4 digits on each post cause a problem, because the addition of the digits creates a unique URL?
Does that make sense?

yes, because the additional 4 digits makes the url look unique, and my plugin then considers that a new post…this is done to prevent double posting which is what most people are concerned about.
I downloaded the beta package because the AutoPost to Author was a feature I was looking for as well. My site is in beta so I thought I’d give it a try.
I’m also getting duplicate posts on each import cycle. It would seem as if it’s not looking for new content but importing the total number of items per fetch per feed without checking to see if that post has already been imported?
I deactivated the feature for now.
Yep, also removed the extra 4 digits and the duplicates remain.
I reverted back to version 2.67.1 and the duplicate posts continue, even with the 4 digits removed.

the way the code works right now (in both the beta and the current version) is that each post is checked to see whether a) the title is already in the database and b) the url is already in the database..only if both a and b are false (both do not exist in the database) does the post come in. What may be happening is that the titles are not the same, the urls are not the same or your wordpress site is running on a server where it hiccups sometimes when an sql query is made – thus allowing posts to come in because the checking was complete.
The only way I can test whether there is indeed a problem with the plugin is to replicate the problem..so give me an RSS feed where you see this problem happening and I’ll try it on 2 or 3 different servers to see if I get duplicates or not.
Allen – This site is in beta so I can give you an admin account on the backend too if you’d like. I’m on WP Engine servers so I doubt they’d have the hiccup issues.
It may very well be a misunderstanding on my part in the setup. I’ve been using your plugin for awhile and it’s the absolute best, but I may have missed something on the new one.
