 * Maybe it’s just me, but I would consider using static images rather than animated
   gifs. While they were once a great part of the web some time ago, I don’t know
   that a majority of people take sites with them now as serious as those that don’t
   use them?

 * I think the background tile image is very distracting, if it was me, would replace
   it with something like yellow, black, or brown:
