    Hello,

The message to save to the homescreen showed up and I saved and everything went fine, on android. In IOS it didnt asked to save to homescreen.

Then I deleted the shortcut in the homescreen, deleted the cache of my mobile phone too but when I visited the website again it didn’t ask to save to the homescreen again.

    How can we solve this?

  • Hello @bttmrc,

Good day and thanks for using Super Progressive Web Apps plugin.

iOS doesn’t support PWA yet, now it only works on Android for now. 🙂

Currently Google Chrome (version 57+), Chrome for Android (62), Mozilla Firefox (57), Firefox for Android (58) are the major browsers that support Progressive Web Apps.

    Thanks!

Regarding the prompt to save again the PWA. You need to remove the shortcut icon already added to your home screen and delete the browser cache.

Steps to clear browser cache on Chrome

Clear the browser cache and try again. In Chrome for Android, go to Settings > Privacy > “Clear browsing data”.

Hope it will help you, if not please let me know the URL. So that we can check it upon our device and update you.

    Thanks!

Thank you, yes I read after I posted it lol should have done it first.

What about the question to save again when someone deletes it from the homescreen?

Oh yeah, I removed it from the homescreen but it was also in the all apps menu. Once I deleted from there too and cleared cookies and cache it showed up again.

    Thank you 🙂

Regarding IOS, is there an ETA for it to be working on there too?

Glad to know that it worked perfectly @bttmrc.

Regarding iOS, a lot of articles states that PWA’s are coming to iOS hopefully by this year end.

    Enjoy SuperPWA!

    Thanks!

I agree with you José. But I don’t know how the “progressive web app” plugin do for have a tiny look on iOS (you can see in action here https:morgao.com )
    Thanks for your amazing job

    Hello @redb68,

Honestly, I’m using Android phone and didn’t have an iPhone. So I cannot test it out 😀

I think they may add a popup for iOS devices by checking the OS. But iOS is not currently supporting offline mode and PWA, they are only working on it. So I don’t know whether the plugin progressive web app supports offline and all. Can you please confirm whether offline navigation works on iOS devices?

    Thanks!

    Hello Jose,

Quick follow up question. Is it possible to find a middle ground for the IOS users? Can we add a message for them like WPTOUCH does in their web app? example here https://support.wptouch.com/support/solutions/articles/12000010264-web-app-mode

    Hello @bttmrc,

Good day! As of now we are looking to improve the features of PWA and to make our plugin more advanced by providing some super functionalities that helps people to use easily.

We would also like to mention that we are closely watching the changes happening upon iOS regarding the PWA. Once iOS start supporting caching and Service Workers, we can roll it instantly. Until then we are more sticking with a plan for adding more functionalities to SuperPWA.

    Thanks
    Jose
