Ascending doesnt work

Hi I just download this in hopes to dedicate a ‘page’ with a specific category I blog about. I ticked the ascending and order by series #. Then in each post I numbered each in the order I wanted. Going to the page it still orders in descending. Is it possible to have a full 1st post in that archive then showing the excerpts? I hope that made some sense…

Please see my temp site at jc.unbrandedstudio.com the category is under exercise>planks. Planks is archived incorrectly. Does this have to do with incompatibility with my theme? I sure hope now…I’m a complete noob in code…
