    Hello everyone,

For some reason, the articles I’m posting every week on my blog don’t appear on Google search results…
They are correctly indexed in the sitemap and I have checked all the settings within the Yoast Plugin. The articles are SEO friendly.
Would you be able to help me with this issue?
    Thanks !
    Stéphanie

@alchimieyoga Can you please confirm whether you have submitted the sitemap for https://alchimieyoga.fr/ to Google Search Console?

We have a guide on submitting sitemaps in Google Search Console located here: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/submit-sitemap-search-engines/#google

We checked on the https://alchimieyoga.fr/index.php/montrer-la-voie-avec-son-coeur-lamour-pour-essence/ and do see that the page is set to <meta name="robots" content="index, follow" /> in the source code, so is set to be indexed. Also, the page didn’t return any issues in Google’s mobile friendly test here.

Also, if you check one of the URLs in Google’s URL Inspection Tool are any issues reported? We we have a guide on using the URL Inspection Tool feature here: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/fetch-as-googlebot/ and you can also read more about it in Google’s documentation here:

@devnihil I have now submitted the sitemap on the Google Search Console but I get the following error message: “Sitemap could not be read”

my sitemap URL is the following: https://alchimieyoga.fr/index.php/sitemap_index.xml

I’m wondering if the issue comes from the fact that i have index.php in the URL of the sitemap?

Thanks in advance for your help !

    Hi @alchimieyoga ,

We’ve inspected your sitemap and couldn’t find anything wrong. Could you please confirm the result if you check the sitemap URL using Google’s URL Inspection Tool?

    Hi @jerparx

I have inspected the sitempap in the Google URL Inspection Tool and I get the following:
URL is not available to Google
    It cannot be indexed.
Indexing allowed? No: ‘noindex’ detected in ‘X-Robots-Tag’ http header

Could you please let me know what I am supposed to change?
    Thanks

@alchimieyoga If the URL is showing as ‘URL is not available to Google’ this may be due to an issue preventing Google from accessing the URL on the server itself. We would next recommend checking your access logs to see whether any errors are shown when Google tries to access the URL.

@devnihil I get this info from the search console
No: ‘noindex’ detected in ‘X-Robots-Tag’ http header

Could you let me know what this means?

    Thanks!

We are sorry to hear that you’re still having trouble. Are you inspecting the sitemap index URL https://alchimieyoga.fr/index.php/sitemap_index.xml in your Google search console property instead of inspecting the pages of your site?

If yes, please note that you won’t need to inspect the sitemap index https://alchimieyoga.fr/index.php/sitemap_index.xml URL on your site’s Google search console property and it will indeed show the noindex as a result. The sitemap index itself has the noindex in the X-Robots-Tag HTTP header as you don’t wish to see the sitemap index URL to appear in the search results. However, this doesn’t prevent search engines crawler to index the pages from the sitemap index at all.

That said, we have tested your site on Google search and can confirm that it’s appearing on there. Please, refer to the attached screenshot from our end.

Hi @mazedulislamkhan thanks for your useful comment !

The issue is that when I submit the sitemap (https://alchimieyoga.fr/index.php/sitemap_index.xml), I get a message from Google saying that he couldn’t fetch the sitemap, I get “sitemap couldn’t be read”

Could you let me know what is wrong with the current sitemap?

    Hi,

We looked at your sitemap: https://alchimieyoga.fr/index.php/sitemap_index.xml and it is loading as expected. We are not sure why Google is saying that. Indeed, a recent post https://alchimieyoga.fr/index.php/salutation-au-soleil-yoga-lumiere-solaire/ is even appearing in Google here.

    We suggest the following actions:

    1. Clear all your caching from your theme, plugin, server, CDN like CloudFlare or browser. If you are not sure how to clear caching from theme/plugin please speak to those authors. If you want to clear cache from the server, please speak to your host provider. To clear the cache from a browser use this guide: https://yoast.com/help/how-to-clear-my-browsers-cache/.

    2. Delete your sitemap in Google. Doing so will not hurt the SEO of the site. This guide explains more (scroll to the bottom): https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/183669?hl=en.

    3. Submit the sitemap again. Be sure to submit only sitemap_index.xml and nothing else. This guide explains more: https://yoast.com/help/submit-sitemap-search-engines/.

    4. Monitor the results to see if the issue resolves.

    5. If the issue still happens, we suggest contacting Google for more information as Yoast is outputting the sitemap correctly. You may contact Google by making a post on their forums: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!forum/webmasters.
