 * Can anyone recommend the best way to build an art gallery website that have 50
   artists, each have 1-5 art pieces for sale. (Using Woocommerce)

 * That sounds like you will want to start with using the [Product Vendors](https://woocommerce.com/products/product-vendors/?aff=10486&cid=1131038)
   plugin. That will give you the ability to allow others to sell on your site (
   your artists). Without knowing more about what exactly you are wanting to do,
   I can’t recommend anything further.

    I don’t need others to sell on my site. The sales are 
   all through the gallery. I need to have a page for each artist. Each page will
   have 1-5 items for sale. I also need a page with a list of all artists. Something

 * Hi there!
    I suggest that you create a category for each artist and assign the
   artists paintings to the appropriate category. Then you can have a page that 
   lists all categories (artists) and each category will have a page that lists 
   all the artworks related to that artist.

   a reasonable solution. How can I change the word ‘categories’ to ‘Artists’ ?

    You can change the category base under Settings ➔ Permalinks ➔ Optional
   to be `Artists` for instance.

 * This will change the URL of your category pages to something like:
    [https://www.baradeneartshow.co.nz/artists/famous-one](https://www.baradeneartshow.co.nz/artists/famous-one)
