• Hi,

I searched for the forum before posting this thread and mostly many people report this error is happening because of a specifc plugin but I am getting this issue frequently.

for example: I tried to install All in One SEO to my site it didn’t work but after that I retired it again then it worked without the error. However sometimes when I try to install some wordpress optimization plugins no matter home many times I tried it’s not working and currently the only working solution for me to download plugin zip and upload and extract manually.

    here is error image:

The work around solution is fine but I am afraid of any potential security issues or vulnerabilities.

I hope some can tell whether will it pose a security concern?
Is there way to diagnose this issue ?
Do you think changing WordPress to different version will fix it?
Or should I do fresh install?

My site brief details which this error is happening
    url:http://fingermonkey.us/
    Wordpress: Using 4.7.2
Theme: Genesis with NewsPro (Updated and Latest) & All the plugins are updated too.

    Thanks

Uploading/installing a plugin manually does not pose any security concerns assuming the plugin is from a reputable source such as wordpress.org. In earlier versions of WordPress, it was the only way to install plugins or themes.

No. Do not try using an older version of WordPress. That would create some very serious security issues.

Or should I do fresh install?

I don’t think that should be necessary – although you could try re-uploading all files & folders – except the root wp-config.php & .htaccess files and the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folders before uploading the new ones.

However, if this is an intermittent problem, then I suspect it may have more to do with your hosts and your current server.
