Support » Themes and Templates » "Are you sure you want to do this?" error when installing theme

  • Hi I’m working on a client site which is running a theme called “Life,” which it looks like the client got from Themeforest a couple of years ago.

There are a couple of modifications I want to play around with so I downloaded a copy of the theme from their server and attempted to install it locally, via MAMP. While the theme activated OK, and I could access the dashboard, when you go to view the front end absolutely nothing loads, you just get a white page.

I zipped up the theme and attempted to install the theme on a test site that I have running, and it uploads to 99% and leads me to an error that says “Are you sure you want to do this?

    Please try again.”

With my own druthers I normally do child themes of twentyten, twentyeleven, Genesis, etc but this is a case where I need to work with their commercially chosen theme and make it work as best I can.

Like I said, the theme works on their live site, but not when installed locally for me or on my test site. Any advice on troubleshooting this type of thing?

Have you contacted that theme’s vendors/authors regarding this? They would be the best people to ask.

Unfortunately the theme is no longer listed and actually the developer’s site is gone as well. I was hoping someone had solved something similar on a related site, but it could be that this theme is just too out of date.
