Hi!
Thanks for your question!
Well, “unlimited” is a bit much 😉 At least there are not theoretical limits about the table size in TablePress, but very, very large tables might create performance issues, in particular when editing them. It’s then possible that the “Edit” screen can really be used then, and that you would instead have to manage the data offline, e.g. in Excel, and import it into TablePress from a file. But it sounds to me as if you are planning to do that anyways, so you should be fine.
By the way: The TablePress Max premium version comes with two great features that could be very helpful for you: The Server-side Processing feature will make your large table very fast for the visitor (because only the required data is loaded from the server), and the Automatic Periodic Table Import feature can automate those table updates, so that you would only have to update a file somewhere and TablePress would update the table with that data automatically.
Best wishes,
Tobias
Thanks for your help.
I would like to make some additions, my table will have 6 columns, one column will be pictures and the rest will be text. The number of rows will be about 8000, and will be added later. what I would like to know is, if there is a lot of data, will it affect, for example, normal browsing, page loading speed, or backend editing?
Hi,
I think you should be fine with this table. Backend editing could be a little bit slower, but this is hard to forecast, as it mostly depends on your local machine’s speed. Normal browsing on the site will not be affected, and for the page loading of the page with that table you could look into the mentioned Server-side Processing feature if the normal loading of the free version feels too slow.
Best wishes,
Tobias
