Are hyphens in domain names a bad idea? (3 posts)

The domain I want is being used as a "squatter" page, but I could get practically the same domain just with a hyphen in between the two words in it. I was just wondering if it was a bad idea to use the hyphen because when people want to revisit the site they might not remember the hyphen or there might be some other problem.

  2. A non-hyphen would be a better idea, yes.

I would avoid hyphens unless you want to say "my website dot com with a hyphen" for all of eternity.
