Hello ratonperezlolita,
Thank you for contacting WooCommerce support.
I understand you’re experiencing a delay with AVIF images in your Google product feed, where they take 3-5 days to be recognized.
Are you also facing any issues uploading or viewing the AVIF images in WordPress?
Please note that the AVIF image format has been supported by WordPress since version 6.5.
Let’s first determine if there is any problem on the WordPress or WooCommerce side.
Once I have this information, I will be in a better position to assist you further.
Best regards.
Friend, I only use AVIF because it compresses well, it doesn’t compare to the others and it doesn’t weigh much or pixelate a lot.
I added this to the htaccess so that it does accept 2 or 3 weeks ago, yes I can see the images in AVIF in wordpress. But the delay of Merchant, even if 3 to 5 days pass, my image is not shown =/ I don’t want to change all my images =(:
AddType image/avif .avif
At the beginning I did have problems, for example now they loaded 3 products with their attributes with AVIF but not the others.

Hello ratonperezlolita,
Thank you for your reply.

I agree, that AVIF image format offers significant improvements in image quality and compression over formats like JPEG, PNG, and even WebP.
Since you are not facing issues on the WooCommerce’s end this issue appears to be on the Google Merchant’s side. You also mentioned that 3 products with AVIF format were loaded recently. This suggests WooCommerce/WordPress is feeding the data correctly.
I recommend you contact Google and ask them the reason for the delay.
Let me know what they say, if there is anything to fix on WooCommerce’s end, I will be happy to assist further.
Have a great day!
Wouldn’t it be ideal if you could help me with an email to include them? Or that you request it?
They answered me this:
Hi:
Thank you for contacting the Google Merchant Center Support team.
It seems that your Merchant Center account is linked to a third-party store builder that is your product management provider.
Due to the characteristics of the integration between the service provider and Google Merchant Center, all changes that serve to solve your problem must be made through the product management platform, so Google is limited when it comes to providing you with assistance. Our agents do not have visibility to guide you through this process and provide you with a solution, so we recommend that you contact your third-party store builder directly.
However, if you have been recommended to contact our Support teams or if something is not going well with Merchant Center, please reply to this email.
Thank you for your understanding.

Hello ratonperezlolita,
Thank you for your reply.
Please note that we do not have an email facility at this forum.
However, you are welcome to create a ticket via your WooCommerce.com account.
Having said that, the images are sent successfully by Google for WooCommerce and the issue appears to be the delay happening at Google’s end. I suggest you explain this to them.
Let me know how it goes. 🙂
Best regards.
Thanks my friend, I already sent them this forum, they are managing it.
Hi @ratonperezlolita,
Thanks for the update! Since the issue seems to be on Google’s end and you’ve already contacted them, I’ll go ahead and mark this thread as resolved.
If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out.
All the best!
