# archives won’t load…sorta

 * I just moved over from MT and everything is up and running, new posts actually
   show up and all that BUT, when Categories or Archived months are clicked on the
   side menu, the page will reload, acting as if its loading what you clicked, but
   the main page just reloads, the relevant info doesn’t show up. however, if you
   go to the bottom of the page, and click on ‘previous entries’, it WILL bring 
   up the actual previous entries….any idea whats up with that?

 * my webmaster is working on it…problem is, he uses ISS or something, MS’s webserver
   software. Not Apache. So ok…any hints on how to do this?

 * If you are not in the Apache server you might want to try changing your permalink
   structure. You can follow the sample structure in your Options->Permalinks page
   in your WP Admin panel.

   because I tried some of the examples and got 404 errors…
 * I tried putting it at /index.php?%year%%monthnum%, but it places the “/” in the
   actual links… hmm

 * No, no, no. Hang on a sec. You just have to enter the permalink values in Options/
   Permalinks as instructed. They’ll do the rest for you.
 * If you enter your permalinks as `/%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/`, then `/
   2005/02/` will redirect to `index.php?m=200502`
 * If you enter your permalinks as `/archives/%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/`,
   then `/archives/2005/02/` will redirect to `index.php?m=200502`
 * If you enter your permalinks as `/index.php/%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/`,
   then `/index.php/2005/02/` will redirect to `index.php?m=200502`
 * It’s all relative to how you set your permalinks … but you have to actually set
   your permalinks first before you can run off trying links. See this for more

 * that seems great and all in theory, but it isn’t working on my site, dude. it
   probably has to do with the fact we’re running ISS, not Apache. My link aren’t
   redirecting. Thats the problem.
