Archives set up

hello…

am just setting up wordpress for the first time… have read through numerous posts related to setting up archives, however have not been able to find a post that addresses my specific problem… also, i have considered trying a plugin but have yet to find one that addresses by specific problem…

i’d like to set up my archives in the following way:
http://www.pastabroccoli.net/archives/year/month/day/category/post-slug

This is how i set up my permalinks structure as well…

I’d like for each part of the url, to be a unique page someone crusing my site can access… i.e. they can easily go to a page with monthly archives or category archives by elimating portions of the URL as needed…

i set up http://www.partabroccoli.net/archives but seem to have done something that is messing accessing to the year and month archives via the sidemar drop down menu…

any thoughts to make this work are much appreciated!
