 * Hi
 * I can’t seem to get the archives page working. All posts that are supposed to
   be there are. But the theme is really messed up. The theme uses almost the exact
   archives.php as the default theme.
 * Does anybode have an idea what causes this. [http://www.rivaliserandestenar.se](http://www.rivaliserandestenar.se)
   is the url. Not yet made public, so it doesn’t cointain much yet.

 * For displaying your monthly (or category) archive list – you need archive.php
   file (no S at the end!).
    archives.php is completely different: it is a Page
   template.

 * I’m quite aware of that. I have both. And since the posts show but the page is
   distorted I come to the conclusion that it’s the archives (with the s).php that
   is wrong and not the archive.php.

 * Wrong conclusion.
    If a month’s name is clicked, then WP uses: archive.php – (
   if exists) index.php – as a fallback.
 * Read [Template_Hierarchy](http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Hierarchy).

 * That still doesn’t give me an idea to why the archive-page is distorted. I think
   that my archive.php looks fine as well.

 * Actually, it doesn’t look well:
    [http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.rivaliserandestenar.se%2F%3Fm%3D200804](http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.rivaliserandestenar.se%2F%3Fm%3D200804)
   It has misplaced div tags in it. Whenever you have display problems, validating
   the code should be your first task.

 * Thanks. I’ll be looking into it.
