Archives and Categories Titles Only (6 posts)

Need some help. Right now, when ever someone clicks the Archives (at the footer) or the Categories (called Sales Articles), they are linked to a page that displays all the post (post title, post content).

I want to do this: when they click on any archives/categories - they go to a page and they only see the Topics/Post Titles and not the entire post/page.

Like: they click archives May 2009, goes to page and they see.

    Topic A: post date.
    Topic B: post date.
Etc... and same goes for the Categories.

    Right now it's

    Topic A: post date
    Topic B: post date

I think the page is too long, i want my readers to choose the topics that interest them.

How do i do that? Or is there a widget i can download to do that?

    Thanks for the help.

With the help of the Template Hierarchy article, determine what Template is displaying your category archives and your date archives.

Then you will want to use (or not use) the template tag, the_content(), as appropriate.

I called my blog category "General" since I didn't know what else to call it. Now that I have several blog posts, how would I change the title of blog category from "General" to what I want?

I did as you said. Went to Admin, then Posts, then Categories, then under the heading General I clicked on Edit under that. I tried to change the title from General to Links and changed the slug as well. Then I clicked Update and the page said "Category not updated."

Am I missing a step somehow? Is there another way to do it?
