# Archive Widget Link

 * So I’m pretty new to WordPress, and I’m basically teaching myself as I go.
 * Whenever I try to access my post/news archives through the widget (i.e. June,
   July), it takes me back to the homepage. Do I have to manually create an archive
   page, or is it usually meant to sort them on the same page?

 * It should take you to the archive page for those posts. The standard archive 
   widget is not an ajax filter.

 * Thanks for the suggestion, but even after resetting the permalinks, its still
   re-directing me to the homepage.

 * Problem solved – It happened to be a setting within a plugin called Yoast SEO.
 * If anyone happens to come across a similar problem, and you’re using the above
   plugin.
 * Hover over SEO on the side bar, click Titles & Metas – Click Archives – and then
   enable the “Date Archive Settings”
