Archive page with filtering options (perhaps a plugin?)

    I created an achive page with news posts, using a custom query. But asides from a list of posts with dates I would like to visitor to be able to select a specific year and/or category.

    It sounds so common to me that I assume there is a plugin for this, but I can’t find one that does these things.

    Any suggestion would be welcome.
