Support » Plugin: Booking Ultra Pro Appointments Booking Calendar Plugin » Approving Bookings taking a long time

Usually booking approval via the ‘appointments’ tab takes a couple of seconds – opening up the booking, selecting approved and waiting for it to change status etc. Recently since the last update it takes around 10-15 seconds on a fast internet connection to approve a booking. We receive 100+ per week so this extra time is very consuming.

Any reasons why its taking longer? Do we need to delete or clear some appointments?

  • Hello,

We will try to improve this section ASAP.

We could display some appointments then add “load more” link so you can load in batch rather than load all the pending appointments.

    That should work

Hello. Its not the loading of the appointments page as you can select 20/40/60/250 appointments if required to reduce load time.

It’s when you open the individual appointment and change the status, this takes time. But this is the only way to approve appointments AND send a confirmation email right? Or is there a quicker way to bulk approve AND send an email?

that’s strange, it should’t take that long since it has few values only.

This can of issue can’t be resolved on this forum, since you’re in contact with us via ticket just send us a screenshot and send us some test c credentials via email so we can run some tests. We’re not able to replicate the issue even with a large database of appointments.

PLEASE Don’t post private info here.

PS: To the moderators, we’re not asking for private information here, just trying to resolve the issue in private.

    Hello,

    I hope you’re going great!

After spending 4 hours on your website with over 46 plugins active we were able to apply a tweak for your website.

Actually, the issue was not related to the plugin but the two cache plugins you’re running at the same time, SEO and WP Faster Cache. By the way, there is no need to have two cache plugins installed at the same time that will slow down your website rather than speed it up. Besides, it will trigger conflicts not only with BUP but other third-party plugins.

Actually, the cancellation link issue was related to one of those cache plugins, you would need to apply an exception for the cancellation page; otherwise you might experience issues from time to time.

Usually, we fix issues within few hours, however this took us days and hours, I hope you understand that troubleshooting with such amount of plugins is not that easy.
As for the booking approval process, it should take 2 seconds only since it’s a simple pop up with few html elements.

If it’s taking that long, then it has nothing to do with your internet connection but either your hosting or your website itself. I’d bet it has to do with the website due the plugins you have installed. I have checked the speed of your website with and without BUP active and it’s slow even o simple pages. I can share with you some screenshots via email if you wish. That might help you to improve the website’s performance.

I’m sorry about the large letter. I just wanted to clarify the issue as much as possible.

Let’s keep talking about your issues via email.

BTW: I have updated your website, so.. the cancellation issue was resolved online.

    Cheers

Thank you for your thorough response. I am happy with the support you have now given.

Could I ask how you would suggest getting around the issue of slow booking approval and also slow booking creation by the customer?

A group booking can take up to 15s to go through on the customers side.

I have excluded the booking form from the caching plugin.

you’re welcome. We have an open ticket about your issue, let’s try to keep talking about your issue via ticket since this forum is not for features related to the premium version, we might get banned by the moderators.

    Thanks for your understanding.
