• Hi,

I enabled the multiuser in my installation, but there are a couple of things I would like the change. What I want to get is that every users that signs up is an author and can post content, but his posts can only show up after an admin has approved it. Further, the “author” admin page now shows all the posts, images and comments from every user. I would just like it to only show posts/images/comments that actually belong to that author and not sidewide.

I found a plugin that solves the first issue, all new users are assigned to the author group with this plugin http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/multisite-user-management/. I searched for other plugins that let me do all the other things I want as well, but I cant seem to find them?

Does anyone know of any plugins that:

    – require author posts to be approved by admins before they show up
    – restrict the posts/images/comments authors can see to only their own?

Or would this require a custom plugin?

    Thanks 🙂

Make them Contributor? Then they have to have their posts approved, I think.

Yep, make them a contributor instead of an admin of their blog.

assuming you want each of them to have a blog that is. And since you;re using multisite that;s what I’m assuming.

If they are posting to their own blog, then they only see their stuff. (unless they visit someone else’s blog.)

I do seem to have made a mistake, I thought I needed to enable multisite, but I dont seem to need it for what I need. What I want is 1 central blog where users can register and submit content to that I need to approve before its published.

I tried the contributor setting, and that does work a lot better. But I guess there is no way you can enable the photo albums for contributors? That would require a custom plugin?

    multisite is for multiple *blogs*.

WordPress could always have multiple users and authors on one blog. Part of the reason they ditched the mu name.

And yes, you’ll need a plugin for the photo albums.
