    Hello,

I created a discount on my page using the following Filter: Category – In List – Food and Drinks. However, Food and Drinks has many subcategories. The discount doesn’t show up for a product until I select the specific subcategory the product is in.

Is it possible to select a category and have the discount apply to all its subcategories without having to manually select them? Manual selection is very impractical because there’s so many subcategories.

    Thank you

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi there,

Thank you for connecting with us. We are happy to provide you with the information you need.

In order to apply discount correctly, please refer to the following two cases.

Case 1: If the products are associated under both parent and subcategory, then you can add only the parent category in the filter section.

You can refer to the following examples for further guidance: https://nimb.ws/2Svay3, https://nimb.ws/YJBLyh

Case 2: If the products are associated only under a child category and not in the parent category, you should use the subcategories in the filter section.

Here are some examples to help: https://nimb.ws/JgrROy, https://nimb.ws/0w9qUZ

If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to open a support ticket here -> https://www.flycart.org/support and include screenshots of your rule setup and screenshots of the Woocommerce backend category configuration. We are happy to assist you further.

We look forward to hearing from you soon.

    Thank you,

    Team Flycart

So @sangeethasrinivasan how about one of these:

    1. Adding a toggle so the user can decide whether subcategories should be automatically considered
    2. Allowing the user to quickly select all subcategories in bulk when creating the rule
    3. Simply considering all subcategories regardless, and asking the user to add an aditional filter to *exclude* specific subcategories in the rule

Personally I’m leaning more on #3.
