Apply lightbox to single images

I just installed this plugin to replace another similar plugin & in playing around with it, I just noticed that while the gallery images work great, individual images expand when clicked by cannot be zoomed or panned like the gallery lightbox images.

Also, the only way to close the single images is to click the back button on the browser. Would it be possible to add the same lightbox functionality to single images? (zoom plus close-on-click) Thanks.
