Support » Plugin: TablePress » Append rows to existing table?

Hi, when I use upload “Append rows to existing table”, I add a new spreadsheet with new and some duplicate rows. I assume append would keep the new information and deleted the duplicates. Instead, it keeps several duplicate rows. Is there a setting to keep that from happening? I found Table Manipulation there a Select Columns Duplicates, can that be used to find duplicates by a set column?

One other thing, when I export a report, I have a date column but the dates don’t export. What could cause that.

    Thank you
    Kim

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

Choosing “Append” during the import fully appends all rows from the file that you import. TablePress can not check or prevent duplicates with that. Do you maybe instead simply want to “replace” the table in TablePress with that from the file?

The button that you mention is used to duplicate rows/column, to make editing faster if rows are very similar to each other. It can not be used to detect/find duplicate columns, sorry.

About the export: Can you explain what you mean with “the dates don’t export”? What export format are you choosing and were are the dates then not showing?

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Hi,

that would strange. What export format are you using and in what program are you opening the exported file (i.e. where are the cells missing)?

Export as cvs and open in excel. I agree, that is a weird one.

    Hi,

can you please check the CSV file by opening it in a normal text editor (like Notepad or Wordpad? Are the dates showing then?
It might also make a difference if you open the CSV file by just double-clicking or if you open it from within Excel.

    Tobias
