Correct there is no error I just do not get the link in my wordpress dashboard to go to the widget to edit it.

I have done it before from my profile but now it is gone

I thought you were saying your were getting an error. When did the area go missing?

If you can’t get there by typing in the URL directly then it sounds like the theme or the install is actually broken. You might need to do a restore from a backup.

I dont know when it went missing I just went to edit something today and noticed it was missing. Not usually editing the side bar it is usually left untouched.

The Appearance area is a core function of a WP install, and while a theme may make some changes to some options, it shouldn’t remove any area. I think you really have three steps to figure this one out:

    1. Change the theme and see if it pops up (then you know it is a theme issue)
    2. If it doesn’t, then you know something has happened to your install.
    3. If it’s your install or your theme, the easiest way to fix it is going to be a restore of a backup when it was working.

… also try disabling all plugins.

Yeah, it could be a plugin or a couple plugins that are conflicting. Thanks for wrapping that up for me, Rajesh 🙂
