It’s not a spamming IP address; based on that link, someone is just trying to “poison the well”. Anyhow, talk to your host at this point, since calls to api.wordpress.org are outbound connections, and the host decides how much weight ot put on these lists. Ask them to ignore a block on this IP.
Hi @xarlien, I’ve contacted the WordPress.org server admins to get the IP removed from the blocklist.
The IP is on the blocklist due to incorrect reports from certain hosts who appear to be incorrectly recording WordPress sites connecting OUT to the API as being a brute force attack upon them, where as they should only be recording connection attempts IN to their network as being one.
In the meantime, you can contact your webhost and ask that they whitelist WordPress.org in their firewall setup that’s using that Abuse database to be used.
Thank you for answers.
We are hosters. 🙂 But at AbuseIP DB is over 1500 reports for this IP.
We can whitelist, but this must WP core resolve with AbuseIP.
