  • Resolved Yverc

I installed another plug-in which i had to enter my API key in order to activate. It got activated, but now there is a red box all over wordpress saying “ Stats needs attention: please enter an API key or disable the plugin.”

It says that the key “belongs to the account of “yverc”. If this is not your account, please re-enter your API key”. Well, the yverc account is MY account. How do i get rid of the “WordPress Stats need attention” thing?

I already use the API key for the akismet plug-in, so i don’t want to add this as “another blog” as it’s the same blog!

    Plug-in: Stats
    My OS: Windows XP
    Web hosting: Laughing Squid
    Browser: Firefox

  • It suddenly dissapeared!

I have the same thing happening. Stats has been working well, and suddenly 3 days ago it stoped reporting showing 0 visitors for 3 days – unlikely. I disabled the plug-in, reactivated it and re-entered the API key posted on my WordPress account. It told me it had beeen associated with another blog (the same) and did I want to maintain (meaning I could not activate the plugin) or replace (activating the plugin. I chost ereplace because I wanted it to activate. It is still not showing any data or look any different. I guess I was expecting to see the 0 visits replaced with true data (activity).

    Any ideas?

ideahaus: Glad to hear I’m not the only one who hasn’t had a single visitor show up for three days. I upgraded to WP 2.6.1 and implemented a new theme, and also upgraded my Stats plugin. Ever since then, even with my API key entered, it registers no visits.

I’ve checked my Web server logs and I’ve had three VERY busy days, but no stats registered. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I’m having same problem here too.
Installed also Askimet and this plugin.
When prompted for API key I entered the key I allready have.
Seems like only one application may run on one API key?

I also chose for replace, the site tells me that the plugin is working now, but I can’t seem to get statistics out of it, except for old stuff… And I see a link coming in to my site… 🙂
