Hey i facing an annoying problem with WP Youtube Lyte .

Create new credentials and copy the API key :
    Checking your key …
API key not OK, your key seems to be faulty, with YouTube API returning reason: accessNotConfigured

Adding Key restriction using HTTP referrers (web sites):
API key not OK, your key seems to be valid, but restricted to an IP-address which is not your server’s.Try changing the allowed IP for your API key to include this one: x.x.x.x

Chgange Key restriction using IP address and using IP that mentioned before :
API key not OK, your key seems to be valid, but restricted to an IP-address which is not your server’s.Try changing the allowed IP for your API key to include this one: x.x.x.x

    Remove IP restriction :
API key not OK, your key seems to be faulty, with YouTube API returning reason: accessNotConfigured

Regenerate New API key and wait for about 2 hour :
API key not OK, your key seems to have expired, please check in the Google Developer Console.

Create New Credential and generate new API key and this problem looping forever . I’ve been trying for about 6 Hour and create 3 different Project but i facing that problem again , again an again .

I also have waited for about 40 minute with new API key from new Project with no restriction and test it out , as google Noted that It may take up to 5 minutes for settings to take effect . but nothing work , i always get this :

API key not OK, your key seems to be faulty, with YouTube API returning reason: accessNotConfigured

I did a quick Google search, you seem not the be the only “victim” of … erratic behavior of YT’s API when activating a key. maybe this solution on stackoverflow helps?

Today i creating new API key using fresh account and “API seems OK, you can Save Changes below now.” What a nice plugin , Thankyou Frank !

    Hi Frank,

Unfortunately it did not help me with my API issue.
I tried all steps described on Stackoverflow, several times with the same result:

API key not OK, your key seems to be valid, but restricted to an IP-address which is not your server’s.Try changing the allowed IP for your API key to include this one: 97.74.223.11

Any ideas what else I could try?

    Re-Hi SebastianS 🙂

did you “Leave the box with whitelisted IP’s empty” as per the FAQ?

    frank

    Hey Frank,

I have looked around and tried to find the sidebar you are referring to in the FAQ.
I can’t see it! I have no idea where to “Leave the box with whitelisted IP’s empty”!
    Sorry!

Never mind. Suddenly the key I created works!

API seems OK, you can Save Changes below now.

    Thank you!

you’re welcome, enjoy your (sunny?) sunday (the weather’s superb in Belgium now, probably the last day of the indian summer) 🙂

    🙂
Good call! I should soak up the last sun rays today, here in Bali. It’s almost dawn and I have spent my day mostly in front of a screen. The sky is super clear and the late afternoon sunlight is golden!

End of summer and the time in autumn in Europe can be very lovely. Haven’t had that for 7 years!!!
