Support » Plugin: Flickr Photostream » API Key error??

  • Hi there,

I’ve just set up this plugin and can’t get it to work,
I’ve created a new app on Flickr and added the API key in the box but i keep getting this error:
Invalid values, the settings have not been updated
    API Key is not valid

Which leaves me unable to do anything!

Any ideas why my API code wouldn’t work?

    Many thanks in advance,

  • I’ve the same issue. I already had an app that I was using for other purposes and to be sure I created one brand new. I always receive the “API KEY is not valid” error… Any suggestions?

The API KEY is backed with the flickr.test.echo API.

Try to call this API with Flickr API Explorer. Tell me what happens.

If you trust me, send me an email with your key, and I will try if the problem is related to other things.

Someone of you says that the API Key doesn’t work because the site doesn’t have cURL enabled. Your cURL are enabled? or only enabled to some sites like Google and WordPress?

    Hi Miro,

I’m having the same issue, when I just went in to try to set up the plugin after installing it, I put everything the way I wanted it in the settings menu and got the message:

“Invalid values, the settings have not been updated
    API Key is not valid”

I also tried to just put the code: [flickr_photostream user_id=”xxxxxxxx”] directly into the text tab of the new wordpress page that I created, and got the message : “FlickrPhotostream error: The lightbox attribute can be only “none”, “colorbox” or “swipebox”.”
I’m trying to display my flickr images from this flickr account:
    to this web page:

that last error could just be because I can’t save the settings because my api key won’t work, but I”m not sure. I’m not much of a coder, so I’m not sure I would know how to activate cURL, or what that is. Thanks for any help that you can give.
