 * How can I request an API Key? I signed up a couple weeks and no longer have my
   welcome email (before i realized the api key is in this email?!). Also, I do 
   not have an API key listed anywhere in my profile that I can see.
 * I am trying to setup the stat plugin that states it requires an API key.

 * If you signed up for your api key for askimet and put it in askimet then it’s
   stored under your dashboard under plugins then Askimet configuration. If not 
   then sign into wordpress.com and it should be in your profile there.

 * i didnt sign up for it through askimet. the problem is i dont see it anywhere
   in my profile here on wordpress. if im not looking in the right place i apologize,
   but i looked through every option and link.
