# API Key

 * Everytime I try to enter my API key to use the Akismet plugin, it says that it
   cannot connect to the Akismet.com website due to the API key. But I did just 
   recently make the API key on wordpress.com.
 * So does anyone know what I may be doing wrong?

 * It’s hard to say. It could be a problem with your host not allowing fsockopen
   connections, or not having DNS setup right, or basically anything that would 
   prevent the webserver from connecting to rest.akismet.com.

 * Alright, well I’ll try to work around it. I have another question though.
    My
   site is [http://mxscrubs.sportsontheweb.net](http://mxscrubs.sportsontheweb.net)
 * Well I have the blog of course on the Home page, but is there a way they I can
   also make the News page a blog page too, where I can just click Write > Post 
   and it will post on that page instead of Home, or like I can choose whether I
   want to post on Home or News? I’m not sure if I’m making sense but if you don’t
   understand please let me know.
