I’ve been trying to fix this for quite some time now. I’ve disconnected and reconnected. I sent a support email that was received but not replied to.

Source Invalid – I have disconnected and reconnected more than 5 times and it does not solve the problem.

    this is the error:

Instagram Feed is encountering an error and your feeds may not be updating due to the following reasons:

Error: Access Token is not valid or has expired. Feed will not update.
API error 100: Unsupported request – method type: get

    Hi @chrisogrady,

Thank you for contacting us! Apologies for the delay in our response to the ticket you submitted. We respond to all support requests, but requests for our Pro plugins receive priority support so it can take a little longer with the free plugins.

Please try fully removing and then recreating your account source with these steps:

-Go to WordPress dashboard > Instagram Feed > Settings > remove the connected account(s) by clicking the red trash icon.

    -Click the Save Settings button.

-Click the Add Source button, then click the blue Connect button and go through the connection process again. If connecting a Business Profile, when sent to Facebook, you may need to click the Edit Settings (reference) button to review your connection settings and make sure the correct account and related pages you manage are selected, and all permissions.

-For any existing feed or legacy feed, go to the specific feed options > Settings > Sources and select the newly connected source.
Once your account has been readded, click the Save Changes button.

If this does not resolve the problem and you are using a Business Profile connection, you may need to follow the steps in this guide to reauthorize the connection: https://smashballoon.com/doc/reauthorizing-our-instagram-facebook-app/

If you are using a Personal connection and the steps above do not resolve the issue, please try connecting the account as a Business Profile with the steps in this guide: https://smashballoon.com/doc/instagram-business-profiles/?instagram.

I’ve also responded with this information in your support request ticket.

I hope this helps! Could you please let me know if you have any questions?

    Thanks!

I do understand I am using the free version and I do appreciate your help and support with the plugin.

I have removed and reconnected the account more times than I can remember. Deleted everything and then started over again. I feel that if I do this one more time it might work… but it never does 🙂

I just tried adding it as a business account and “You don’t have any Instagram Business Accounts linked to a Page.” “Switch to professional account” is also on my instagram page so it’s not a business account.

I’m not sure what else do to at this point.

    Hi @chrisogrady,

We appreciate your understanding. Sorry to hear the issue has persisted after removing and reconnecting several times. It appears there may be a temporary problem on Instagram’s side in the API for some accounts.

I’ve responded to your support ticket with more information, so please check there and I can provide further assistance if needed.

    Thanks!

    Hello,
I am having the exact same issue as chrisogrady. Can you please share the “more information” you shared with them in case it helps me please?

    Thanks,
    sean

…and just like that, when trying to reconnect the account (for the 8th or 9th time) immediately after posting here just now, it worked. Go figure.

    Hey @sean678,

The more information that came of this is that, Unfortunately, Meta had temporary issues causing this for most of our users using a personal connection. While this was ongoing and being fixed by Meta, pn Friday this happened to even more users but has since been resolved. It is not an issue we could create any workaround for either way, and I am glad to hear it is working on your end as well now!

    Best regards.
